Stacking chips

I am pretty sure thats a picture of philip stacking some chips on ryans birthday party. We went to his house after boston pizza and played poker. I didn't play....I think, not too sure. It was a pretty fun day. I remember seeing Ray.

Work was very dull today. Quite hard to stay awake after lunch. My coworkers are always so busy, no idea what they are doing though. After lunch one of my coworkers was watching this guy at the harbour who was obsessed with some piece of ice. He kept throwing stuff at it, and poking it. We had no idea what he wanted to do with it. My guess is there must have been something underneath the block of ice. The craziest thing this guy did was stand on the ice and try to push it away. If he put his full weight on it he would have been toast.

Other then that small event the rest of the day was laid back. I read some battle angel alita and it is quite similar to the anime. The anime was great, the manga is just as good. I am about to start vol 3 which basically takes place where the anime left off. I am very excited to see how things go with this series. Hopefully I can finish it before I have to hand it to adrian.

On a side note I think I fully fixed all the archives now. So it should work regardless of where you are in my blog. Be sure to comment if there are any problems.

Looking at photos

Update:

I have finally got the archives section up and running. Now for anyone who liked to read previous posts it will actually work with any browser now (at least I think it will). It should work with browsers like firefox and what not. Now you can read to your hearts content!!!

I took this photo of my cousin Jana while we were at his brothers house (Mahi's) playing a board game called Settlers of Katan among other games. Jana has quite a large collection of board games and card games. Every time we go to Mahi's place for board games and dinner he always brings something new. However the rest of us are very focussed on playing settlers of Katan so we don't always get around to trying his other games.

Today was a very boring day at work. I finished Ultimate X-men vol 1 and I have mixed feelings about the comic. It looked stunning but certain parts of the story I felt were too strange. I grew up with the cartoon and I feel that was great, possibly because it was moving characters, possibly because I was 7 when I watched it. Regardless Ultimate X-men is a very interesting view of remaking an old classic.

When I went to my cousin Mahi's place today for another day of boardgames we were talking about the ultimate series and came to an interesting discovery. All the old series like The avengers, fantastic 4, x-men, spiderman, they now all have ultimate series. So it will be strange to see what happens in 10 years because people may not know which fact about a superhero is true anymore. Both the originals and the ultimates contain the same characters but completely different stories. In x-mens case the characters are the same, just their back stories are different, and I think the timeline is a little closer to the present. The original which it was based on may seem to be the true story of a character, but when you think about it ultimates remade the series completely, so what is wrong with saying the wolverine in ultimate x-men is what wolverine really is, not the wolverine from the uncanny x-men. Mind you whoever is reading this is probably wondering why I care so much about comics, but it was cool to talk about.

When everyone arrived at my cousin mahi's house we started playing Settlers of Katan. As always I lost, but the game is still super fun. After a very long game we talked for a while then headed home. Now I must get some good sleep and prepare for a long day of work tomorrow.

Can't wait to go to waterloo this weekend. I have a math contest I must destroy. Hopefully I can find a good luck charm, the contest is just crazy logic statements.

On yet another side note I may actually get around to remaking this site. Perhaps I will do the unthinkable, learn html, css and make an ultra simple layout.

Tough decisions

This was taken on a trip to tim hortons. Justin is changing the song on his nano.

Sunday was a pretty fun day. It started off with another driving lesson. I still really suck at driving, hopefully my dad will take me out for a few lessons so I can get more practice. After driving I was doing pretty much nothing for about a few hours. I watched a bit of anime and downloaded some stuff, but other then that nothing really.

At night kings and simon came over and we watched xxxHolic. It was a very cool anime movie made by clamp. Mind you there is no pornography or anything so don't let the name trick you. The movie was very good though. Visually it was stunning, they animated it very well. The story was pretty cool, but the movie was just too short. It was around 50 minutes.

After the movie my mom came into my room and we were all talking. Eventually shawn showed up and we talked a bit more. Shawn brought me a salad which was much appreciated. If it weren't for that salad I wouldn't have bothered eating dinner.

Today was a pretty normal day of work. I was reading up on ruby which looks to be a programming language designed for making web applications. Still have no idea how to do anything with it though. I think I will need to learn some basic html and what not before starting with this.

When I got home I pretty much sat around and started downloading some anime and have been listening to lots of jacksoul. Still believe in love and shady day are wicked songs. I still need to continue getting songs from block party. I need to get some eryka badu, the roots, wyclef, and a few other artists. Block party was awesome, everyone should go watch it.

Shoes galore

I took this photo while at kingston with cheryl. As always cheryl can't stop looking at shoe stores. On our short walk around downtown kingston she decided to check out this store.

Today was a long long day. It started off with a boring ass inurance class. That was just the biggest waste of time. Thank god I had my PSP. I played some GI Joe and tetris through a good chunk of the class. The instructor is just some weird indian guy who seems to try and make weird jokes and what not. The instructor isn't that bad but the stuff he is talking about is so useless.

As soon as the driving lesson finished I quickly rushed home and started doing some moving around and cleaning of my room with my brother. We moved around some computers and the router. So now I have my iMac, and my new iBook both in my room, along with the router. Its quite a nice setup. I can start streaming music and what not from the imac to the ibook without any problems. I will probably have to start moving over songs eventually though. The laptop is very nice, but its a shame I won't be making much use of its portability for awhile. There aren't many places I go to where I would need my laptop.

After we finished all the moving and what not, my cousins came over and we all started talking about all sorts of stuff. Its always interesting talking about politics and old stories with family. It was a really good conversation. I always leaves these conversations feeling well informed, but there is still a lot I don't really know.

After my cousins left kings and jimmy showed up and played 24 for a bit then we headed to dinner. Dinner was pretty normal. It was hotpot, but for some reason the chicken was black. It looked CRAZY! I had never seen a black chicken before today. It was quite an interesting site. Even though the chicken was black it didn't taste too great.

After dinner a few of us went to STC to watch Dave Chapelle Block party. The movie was great. It was very funny and the music was just excellent. I have quite a bit of music I need to start downloading.

Once we got back to my house it was a normal day at krishna's, talking, playing games, and bashing krishna. It was quite a fun day indeed. Hopefully I won't struggle for my driving lesson tomorrow.

Tired

I took this photo of jo while we were having our party at eddu's week. That was a great week. Non-stop parties at eddu's.

Today was a pretty laid back day of work. I came in late today for various reasons. One of which was the southbound subway was having problems, so I missed 2 trains. One because I got there a few seconds late, the other because it was out of service. Even though I was late it wasn't a big deal. Most of the morning was spent reading stuff online and talking to various people, nothing too exciting.

For lunch I went to Hong Shing and got some decent BBQ Duck. I feel the BBQ pork there is a bit better then the BBQ duck though. Regardless it was a good lunch, very unhealthy, but still wicked.

The rest of the day at work was pretty relaxed also. I burnt a cd, installed visio, and also fixed up some word documents that were causing problems. All in all a very productive day at BCE place.

After work I met up with ryan and adrian at Hairy Tarantula's. We were there for quite some time looking at comic books and manga. I sadly didn't get anything because I have almost no money to spend on books and what not. I still need to buy vol 7 and 8 of my Buddha comic which I hope to do soon.

When I got home people were talking about what to do. Since nothing seemed to be getting done I jogged for my usual 15 minutes. This time I tried watching anime on my psp while jogging. This didn't go over too well. It was too hard to read the subtitles.

When I finished my jog nelson was on his way here and slowly but surely everyone was on there way. The night started off with a very rowdy game of winning 11. People were damn loud. As this was going on my brother Ramanan was setting up his ibook for me to use. He recently got the 20" Intel core Duo iMac which means I get to use his old ibook. This computer is great. Its practically twice as fast as my old iMac, probably even more then that now that I am actually using it. I can't wait to start using this computer more often.

After everyone got here people started playing poker downstairs while the rest of us played chez geek then more winning 11. Edward was very focussed on reading ultimate x-men.

In different news I moved up my old Hi-Fi speakers into my room. Now my tv is plugged into two Merantz speakers. I am still conflicted as to if it sounds better or not. Nelson seems to feel it does but I am still unsure. It does look cooler having speakers next to my TV though.

Now I must wake up early tomorrow for my first insurance lesson. hopefully I won't pass out from boredom.

Must..play...megaman soccer

I took this photo of edward while he was busy playing megaman soccer. I put the game on my psp simply because it was megaman. I never actually got around to playing it though. Edward seemed to really enjoy it though.

Today was a quiet day of work as always. Talked to people online for a bit, read some reviews about the mac book pro, nothing too exciting. For lunch I got some wicked BBQ pork. I need to find something better to eat tomorrow though, perhaps something a little less fatty.

Lunch came and went pretty quickly. The rest of the day was me pretty much talking to people online. The worst part about today though was the fact that I was called over to someones desk at like 4:50. I didn't get to leave till around 5:20 which really sucked. The problem was he couldn't add appointments to his outlook calender. The solution...run adaware and remove spyware. No clue how this works, but windows is a mysterious operating system. Everyday I'm at work is just another reason why I should never go back to windows. Hopefully when I get my tax return next april I will have enough money to actually buy a new iMac.

After work I came home and ate some leftovers from yesterday. Can't beat some good old special fried rice. After eating I relaxed for an hour then hit the treadmill for a quick jog. Once again I lasted only 15 minutes. Hopefully I can make this a daily routine. My heart needs a good workout.

Now its time for some good old fashioned K-drama.

Ryan hiding

Ryan doesn't seem to like getting his photo taken. Regardless I took this photo. It came out quite nice. This was taken at a Wendys on....steeles I think. I don't even really know.

Today was a pretty normal day of work. I was in BCE place so I was online for the entire day just chatting away trying not to fall asleep. Amy was teaching me about these photography concepts called rule of thirds. I have already forgotten parts of it I think, but the basic rule is whatever you are taking a photo of, divide that frame in 9 small squares (like a sudoku square). Now the focus of this picture should be on one of the lines, and not in the centre. I am still very skeptical on this rule. I may try to follow it to a certain degree, but I feel more obligated to completely throw the rule out of my mind and only take pictures which contradict it. This gave me the idea of making a new blog perhaps called "Focus on the center", where I post photos where the focus is in the centre of a picture. But I am quite lazy and I doubt I will do that though.

After work I headed over to Hairy Tarantula's and looked at some manga. I am very tempted to buy some Neon Genesis manga. The anime was very intense and also cofusing. I expect the manga to be equally as intense. Only problem is though I have no money so I doubt I will buy it.

When I got home I ate dinner and watched some good old Lost. As always the series is crazy. Its hard waiting weeks at a time for a new episode. After an episode I always wonder how I can survive a full week without lost.
