People in the halls

This is quite an old photo of chintan and suth. I saw suth today at kennedy station but didn't have time to talk because a subway was there. Hopefully he wasn't too offended. Good thing I caught that subway because I was still late when I got into work today. If I waited for the other one it would have just been worse.

It has been quite a busy few days. Friday was a very interesting day. Friday ryan and jimmy had a drinking contest. They both got completely wasted. They were totally out of it. Vanessa and simon also drank. Vanessa was also quite drunk. She could barely walk, couldn't stop talking loud, kept saying things she probably shouldn't say, it was great. It was my first time seeing people get drunk so I was a tad scared but it was also really fun to watch. Surprisingly my parents were fairly okay with everything. They asked if anyone drank and drive, I said no, and that was that. No beatings, no telling me I could never do it again. Mind you I have no idea when those guys will want to drink again, but as long as it doesn't get too crazy loud my parents won't mind too much it seems.

Saturday was a day of recovery. I had an insurance lesson so I sat through that and played megaman for about 6 hours. When that finished I got home and started playing some suikoden and waited till it was time to go out and watch inside man.

Inside man was an okay movie. I would have expected something a little better from clive owen but it wasn't anything too great. The movie got fairly good reviews but I didn't think it was all that great though.

After the movie we pretty much headed to ryans place. Some played poker, others watched movies, and some just played ps2. I was helping jess in computer science which went by okay I think. After all the cs help we all talked for a little while then just headed home.

Now sunday monday today and probably even tomorrow will most likely be me playing suikoden 5. The game is great. It brings back lots of great memories from suikoden 1. Now I must get back to playing. I really need to develop some photos, I barely have any photos left to post for my blog.

Flowers for Formal

This was taken at Liberty grand before formal. I am quickly running out of photos to post. I must go out and take more photos. Perhaps I will go buy some black and white film soon.

Once again a bit of a delay between my posts but no matter. Tuesday was nothing important. Wednesday however was perhaps the worst day of work ever. The day started off okay but then at 9:45 I got a call that would crush my chances at getting a decent evaluation for this work term.

The call was from someone in a meeting room saying they couldn't connect. This is quite a common problem. People usually have their firewalls turned on or are plugged into the wrong port. So I walk over to the meeting room and take a look. She is a little edgy because she has a meeting in 15 minutes and had to send documents and everything.

So I take a look at her computer and checked her settings and the different ports and the computer wouldn't connect. For some reason it would alternate between acquiring address and network cable unplugged. Baffled I went back to my coworkers and asked for their input. They were unsure as to what was wrong and told me to try manually selecting the line speed of the connection. I tried this and still didn't have any luck.

After a while she just picks up her laptop and moves it to a different workstation and tries to see if she can connect from there. When I follow her and see which cable she used, she used one that wasn't plugged in. So I ended up just taking this laptop back to my desk and trying it at my desk. By this point she had to postpone the meeting 1/2 hour because she couldn't get online. At my desk she could connect fine so I was still very confused. My coworker told me to ask one of the network people to check if the connection in the room was active or not so I did. He was pretty busy and said he would get to it soon. When I got back she was finishing up and email at my desk.

When she finished I took the computer back to the meeting room and tried every port in the room (6 ports). 1 of them looked like they would work but it just wouldn't acquire an address. After a while she said its too late, I have a meeting to start. So I headed back to my desk. 2 or 3 minutes after this point the network person comes by and says lets go check that laptop. So we walk back to the meeting room and she says "No, your too late, I have a meeting to start" So we said okay and walked back. I sit back at my desk looking at other calls and 5 minutes later my manager comes by and tells us all the VP's and top top people got an email from this women saying "Sorry about the delay in the meeting. The people at IT REFUSED to check the connection in that room. When I heard that I was like SOB! I am certain my manager doesn't like me much as it is and I was certain this couldn't make things better. My coworkers asked me what I did and I told them. After hearing about this email I was informed that someone else had a problem in that meeting room because all the IP's for for that room had been used up. It turns out the reason she couldn't connect was because all the IP's had been used up. I would have never guessed that all the ip's were taken. Anyways it turns out this women has caused the helpdesk much grief in the past so hopefully it won't be too bad. I wouldn't care about this event too much but if I have to come back for a second term. If my manager doesn't like me now, he probably won't like me 5 months from now.

Today went by pretty smoothly. No major problems which is always good. Hopefully the weekend will be able to raise my spirits after this terrible incident. Not sure what is planned yet. I imagine video games and perhaps a crappy movie. Thats what I foresee.

Blocks of life

I love taking macro shots. I have no idea what were written on these blocks but I remember it to be a puzzle. Jamil had brought them into physics one day and much of the class was spent figuring out how to put them back in the proper shape. We never figured it out.

Been quite some time since my last post. Friday was an awesome day. We got some dinner then headed out and watched V for Vendetta. The movie was superb. The comic was still better in some respects, but overall the movie was great. There isn't much else I can say but the movie was great. I recommend everyone to see it. By far one of the better comics books movies ever made.

Saturday was a boring insurance class then a bit of a gap till dinner. Dinner was at some greek place justin recommended. I got some decent souvlaki. It was a tad pricey and I really didn't like our waiter. The bum ignored me a lot. Also they imposed the 15% gratuity charge because we came in a large group.

We headed back home after dinner and sat around for a bit and talked then me simon and nelly headed over to felix's to wish shawn a happy birthday. They were playing n64 when we got there so I just talked to amy jo and nis for a bulk of the stay.

We left around midnight and got back home to watch some people playing poker, some people playing fightnight, and others just sitting around and watching tv. It was a great night indeed.

Sunday was pretty much waking up and going to cheryls for lunch. Cheryl being a bum didn't want to go out and get food but instead wanted to order popeyes. Popeyes only delivered at 3 so we waited 2 hours and got some delivery. For those 2 hours I pretty much sat around and made fun of Cheryl's stupid widgets.

After eating we watched A history of violence. It was a pretty bizarre movie. Overall it wasn't that impressive of a movie though.

After the movie ben picked up cheryl to take her to the bus stop and was kind enough to drive me home.

Work today was great. I sat back and read x-men vol 3 and a portion of 4. The comics are wicked. They started throwing in other marvel characters so its really funny also. Spider-man is still hilarious. I can't wait to finish vol 4 tomorrow.

Tree

No idea where this tree is from but I am certain its somewhere on my way home from campbell.

These last few days have been pretty fun. Monday was nothing special. Yesterday though I got dinner with ryan and dano after work which was pretty good. We went to this place on middlefield and steeles called wanlee. The food was pretty good, we did have a bit of a struggle deciding what to order though.

After dinner we went back to my place and talked for a bit. The initial plan was to go to DQ but loser kevin backed out and we decided not too. Instead we talked quite into the night. Vanessa came by to pick up my dvd burner and we all talked for a while. It was a great night.

Today was a very relaxed day at work. Didn't do much other then read, talk and read some more. After work I headed to Hairy T to look at some manga, I forgot which vol I was looking for so I just went home empty handed.

For some reason some weird stuff was going on at Dundas, right in front of eaton centre. Lots of police tape and lots of cops. I didn't see any blood so I wasn't sure what was up. After looking around for a bit I went home and watched some anime

Now I am going to get ready to go to DQ with ryan adrian and jimmy. A certain village scum was suppose to go but being village scum he cancelled yet again.

Su playing psp

This is quite an old photo of su playing with justin's psp in the library. This photo was taken sometime last may.

Been quite sometime since my last blog post. Thursday and friday were both very dull days at work. However friday night proved to be quite an interesting day.

After work I had planned to go up to waterloo to write the Bernoulli Math contest and also to visit people in waterloo. My first stop was popeyes to get jo some food because she hasn't had any in the longest time. Afterwards I headed down to downsview station.

Downsview was a pretty cool bus station. It looked really nice. It was cool because before you enter downsview there is like a graveyard of subways. Not really a graveyard because they are all working, but a whole mess of subways just lined up. It was quite cool to look at.

Once at the station I waited quite a long time for the bus to arrive. At first I had no idea where the bus was so I had to call jo a few times to try and get an idea of where the bus was. Feds office had some photos of where the pickup would be but it wasn't very helpful. The bus was suppose to get there by 6:30 but it only got there closer to 7. Needless to say I was freaking out for a little while wondering if I was in the right area or if the bus got in early and already left. Luckily I made it on the bus and arrived safely in waterloo.

I pretty much went straight to Jo and amy's place, dropped my bags off then me shawn amy and jo went to get some dinner at Kelseys. Kelseys wasn't anything special. It was a really expensive not that impressive meal. After eating we just went back home and sat around and watched some tv and talked.

When we decided to go to bed this proved to be difficult because there was no place for me to sleep. So what we ended up doing was moving in 2 chairs into the bedroom and push them against the bed. We slept perpendicular to the bed, so our upper bodies were on the bed but our feet were on the chairs. It looked something like a square bracket, [. Anyways it was a tad hard to get some good sleep the first day.

Saturday started off with me heading to the math building to get thoroughly owned in writing a math contest. The bernoulli consists of a statement and you have to decide whether its true or false, no work required. I managed to get the first one write, guessed the second one wrong, got the third one right, guessed the 4th one wrong. You are only allowed two mistakes so I got out pretty early. In despair I went straight home, even though they wanted people to just stay and get some practice and eat and stuff.

When I got back to the res everyone was still sleeping (sadly I had to wake them up to open the front door to the building) so I just sat around and played tetris and watched some anime. The woke up sometime around 12-1 and we just ate and watched some desperate housewives.

After about 5 hours of desperate housewives I went downstairs to talk to the twins and david. Those guys are quite funny. They were studying for a midterm when I went down to visit them so hopefully I didn't set them too far back. We all talked for a few hours, me mainly telling various high school stories and drama which was great.

After lots of talking we headed back upstairs and just finished desperate housewives and that was the end of saturday.

that night was filled with some pretty crappy sleep. I bothered everyone by talking in my sleep, lots of just non-sensical gibberish. I also elbowed (or kneed) jo in the back. It was quite funny when she told me. Jo kept me awake because she was a blanket whore and kept stealing the blanket. I would be like freezing and would have to keep on trying to steal some back. I felt bad though because it was her blanket and her bed. It was pretty funny before going to bed because there is this bar on the back of the bed which joanna hit with her head as she was lying down to get ready to sleep. It was a loud thud and was quite funny. What was even funnier was in the morning when I was telling this to shawn I did the EXACT same thing right after finishing the story. We all had a good laugh.

Today was basically all about the david copperfield show. He did some pretty cool things but I didn't think the show was worth as much as it was. It was quite short.
One of his big illusions is he went to hawaii and came back. I found this to be a very iffy trick. I wasn't thoroughly impressed. Some of his other tricks were quite cool though.

After the show we just got dinner at pizza hut then went home. I am dead tired and will probably be getting some sleep very soon. God I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

Stacking chips

I am pretty sure thats a picture of philip stacking some chips on ryans birthday party. We went to his house after boston pizza and played poker. I didn't play....I think, not too sure. It was a pretty fun day. I remember seeing Ray.

Work was very dull today. Quite hard to stay awake after lunch. My coworkers are always so busy, no idea what they are doing though. After lunch one of my coworkers was watching this guy at the harbour who was obsessed with some piece of ice. He kept throwing stuff at it, and poking it. We had no idea what he wanted to do with it. My guess is there must have been something underneath the block of ice. The craziest thing this guy did was stand on the ice and try to push it away. If he put his full weight on it he would have been toast.

Other then that small event the rest of the day was laid back. I read some battle angel alita and it is quite similar to the anime. The anime was great, the manga is just as good. I am about to start vol 3 which basically takes place where the anime left off. I am very excited to see how things go with this series. Hopefully I can finish it before I have to hand it to adrian.

On a side note I think I fully fixed all the archives now. So it should work regardless of where you are in my blog. Be sure to comment if there are any problems.

Looking at photos

Update:

I have finally got the archives section up and running. Now for anyone who liked to read previous posts it will actually work with any browser now (at least I think it will). It should work with browsers like firefox and what not. Now you can read to your hearts content!!!

I took this photo of my cousin Jana while we were at his brothers house (Mahi's) playing a board game called Settlers of Katan among other games. Jana has quite a large collection of board games and card games. Every time we go to Mahi's place for board games and dinner he always brings something new. However the rest of us are very focussed on playing settlers of Katan so we don't always get around to trying his other games.

Today was a very boring day at work. I finished Ultimate X-men vol 1 and I have mixed feelings about the comic. It looked stunning but certain parts of the story I felt were too strange. I grew up with the cartoon and I feel that was great, possibly because it was moving characters, possibly because I was 7 when I watched it. Regardless Ultimate X-men is a very interesting view of remaking an old classic.

When I went to my cousin Mahi's place today for another day of boardgames we were talking about the ultimate series and came to an interesting discovery. All the old series like The avengers, fantastic 4, x-men, spiderman, they now all have ultimate series. So it will be strange to see what happens in 10 years because people may not know which fact about a superhero is true anymore. Both the originals and the ultimates contain the same characters but completely different stories. In x-mens case the characters are the same, just their back stories are different, and I think the timeline is a little closer to the present. The original which it was based on may seem to be the true story of a character, but when you think about it ultimates remade the series completely, so what is wrong with saying the wolverine in ultimate x-men is what wolverine really is, not the wolverine from the uncanny x-men. Mind you whoever is reading this is probably wondering why I care so much about comics, but it was cool to talk about.

When everyone arrived at my cousin mahi's house we started playing Settlers of Katan. As always I lost, but the game is still super fun. After a very long game we talked for a while then headed home. Now I must get some good sleep and prepare for a long day of work tomorrow.

Can't wait to go to waterloo this weekend. I have a math contest I must destroy. Hopefully I can find a good luck charm, the contest is just crazy logic statements.

On yet another side note I may actually get around to remaking this site. Perhaps I will do the unthinkable, learn html, css and make an ultra simple layout.

Tough decisions

This was taken on a trip to tim hortons. Justin is changing the song on his nano.

Sunday was a pretty fun day. It started off with another driving lesson. I still really suck at driving, hopefully my dad will take me out for a few lessons so I can get more practice. After driving I was doing pretty much nothing for about a few hours. I watched a bit of anime and downloaded some stuff, but other then that nothing really.

At night kings and simon came over and we watched xxxHolic. It was a very cool anime movie made by clamp. Mind you there is no pornography or anything so don't let the name trick you. The movie was very good though. Visually it was stunning, they animated it very well. The story was pretty cool, but the movie was just too short. It was around 50 minutes.

After the movie my mom came into my room and we were all talking. Eventually shawn showed up and we talked a bit more. Shawn brought me a salad which was much appreciated. If it weren't for that salad I wouldn't have bothered eating dinner.

Today was a pretty normal day of work. I was reading up on ruby which looks to be a programming language designed for making web applications. Still have no idea how to do anything with it though. I think I will need to learn some basic html and what not before starting with this.

When I got home I pretty much sat around and started downloading some anime and have been listening to lots of jacksoul. Still believe in love and shady day are wicked songs. I still need to continue getting songs from block party. I need to get some eryka badu, the roots, wyclef, and a few other artists. Block party was awesome, everyone should go watch it.

Shoes galore

I took this photo while at kingston with cheryl. As always cheryl can't stop looking at shoe stores. On our short walk around downtown kingston she decided to check out this store.

Today was a long long day. It started off with a boring ass inurance class. That was just the biggest waste of time. Thank god I had my PSP. I played some GI Joe and tetris through a good chunk of the class. The instructor is just some weird indian guy who seems to try and make weird jokes and what not. The instructor isn't that bad but the stuff he is talking about is so useless.

As soon as the driving lesson finished I quickly rushed home and started doing some moving around and cleaning of my room with my brother. We moved around some computers and the router. So now I have my iMac, and my new iBook both in my room, along with the router. Its quite a nice setup. I can start streaming music and what not from the imac to the ibook without any problems. I will probably have to start moving over songs eventually though. The laptop is very nice, but its a shame I won't be making much use of its portability for awhile. There aren't many places I go to where I would need my laptop.

After we finished all the moving and what not, my cousins came over and we all started talking about all sorts of stuff. Its always interesting talking about politics and old stories with family. It was a really good conversation. I always leaves these conversations feeling well informed, but there is still a lot I don't really know.

After my cousins left kings and jimmy showed up and played 24 for a bit then we headed to dinner. Dinner was pretty normal. It was hotpot, but for some reason the chicken was black. It looked CRAZY! I had never seen a black chicken before today. It was quite an interesting site. Even though the chicken was black it didn't taste too great.

After dinner a few of us went to STC to watch Dave Chapelle Block party. The movie was great. It was very funny and the music was just excellent. I have quite a bit of music I need to start downloading.

Once we got back to my house it was a normal day at krishna's, talking, playing games, and bashing krishna. It was quite a fun day indeed. Hopefully I won't struggle for my driving lesson tomorrow.

Tired

I took this photo of jo while we were having our party at eddu's week. That was a great week. Non-stop parties at eddu's.

Today was a pretty laid back day of work. I came in late today for various reasons. One of which was the southbound subway was having problems, so I missed 2 trains. One because I got there a few seconds late, the other because it was out of service. Even though I was late it wasn't a big deal. Most of the morning was spent reading stuff online and talking to various people, nothing too exciting.

For lunch I went to Hong Shing and got some decent BBQ Duck. I feel the BBQ pork there is a bit better then the BBQ duck though. Regardless it was a good lunch, very unhealthy, but still wicked.

The rest of the day at work was pretty relaxed also. I burnt a cd, installed visio, and also fixed up some word documents that were causing problems. All in all a very productive day at BCE place.

After work I met up with ryan and adrian at Hairy Tarantula's. We were there for quite some time looking at comic books and manga. I sadly didn't get anything because I have almost no money to spend on books and what not. I still need to buy vol 7 and 8 of my Buddha comic which I hope to do soon.

When I got home people were talking about what to do. Since nothing seemed to be getting done I jogged for my usual 15 minutes. This time I tried watching anime on my psp while jogging. This didn't go over too well. It was too hard to read the subtitles.

When I finished my jog nelson was on his way here and slowly but surely everyone was on there way. The night started off with a very rowdy game of winning 11. People were damn loud. As this was going on my brother Ramanan was setting up his ibook for me to use. He recently got the 20" Intel core Duo iMac which means I get to use his old ibook. This computer is great. Its practically twice as fast as my old iMac, probably even more then that now that I am actually using it. I can't wait to start using this computer more often.

After everyone got here people started playing poker downstairs while the rest of us played chez geek then more winning 11. Edward was very focussed on reading ultimate x-men.

In different news I moved up my old Hi-Fi speakers into my room. Now my tv is plugged into two Merantz speakers. I am still conflicted as to if it sounds better or not. Nelson seems to feel it does but I am still unsure. It does look cooler having speakers next to my TV though.

Now I must wake up early tomorrow for my first insurance lesson. hopefully I won't pass out from boredom.

Must..play...megaman soccer

I took this photo of edward while he was busy playing megaman soccer. I put the game on my psp simply because it was megaman. I never actually got around to playing it though. Edward seemed to really enjoy it though.

Today was a quiet day of work as always. Talked to people online for a bit, read some reviews about the mac book pro, nothing too exciting. For lunch I got some wicked BBQ pork. I need to find something better to eat tomorrow though, perhaps something a little less fatty.

Lunch came and went pretty quickly. The rest of the day was me pretty much talking to people online. The worst part about today though was the fact that I was called over to someones desk at like 4:50. I didn't get to leave till around 5:20 which really sucked. The problem was he couldn't add appointments to his outlook calender. The solution...run adaware and remove spyware. No clue how this works, but windows is a mysterious operating system. Everyday I'm at work is just another reason why I should never go back to windows. Hopefully when I get my tax return next april I will have enough money to actually buy a new iMac.

After work I came home and ate some leftovers from yesterday. Can't beat some good old special fried rice. After eating I relaxed for an hour then hit the treadmill for a quick jog. Once again I lasted only 15 minutes. Hopefully I can make this a daily routine. My heart needs a good workout.

Now its time for some good old fashioned K-drama.

Ryan hiding

Ryan doesn't seem to like getting his photo taken. Regardless I took this photo. It came out quite nice. This was taken at a Wendys on....steeles I think. I don't even really know.

Today was a pretty normal day of work. I was in BCE place so I was online for the entire day just chatting away trying not to fall asleep. Amy was teaching me about these photography concepts called rule of thirds. I have already forgotten parts of it I think, but the basic rule is whatever you are taking a photo of, divide that frame in 9 small squares (like a sudoku square). Now the focus of this picture should be on one of the lines, and not in the centre. I am still very skeptical on this rule. I may try to follow it to a certain degree, but I feel more obligated to completely throw the rule out of my mind and only take pictures which contradict it. This gave me the idea of making a new blog perhaps called "Focus on the center", where I post photos where the focus is in the centre of a picture. But I am quite lazy and I doubt I will do that though.

After work I headed over to Hairy Tarantula's and looked at some manga. I am very tempted to buy some Neon Genesis manga. The anime was very intense and also cofusing. I expect the manga to be equally as intense. Only problem is though I have no money so I doubt I will buy it.

When I got home I ate dinner and watched some good old Lost. As always the series is crazy. Its hard waiting weeks at a time for a new episode. After an episode I always wonder how I can survive a full week without lost.
